Forget Me Not
Sun-dried skin
Forget-me-not eyes
We were timid in the garden
Pulling weeds from our mind
We chose the earth
Before each other
And chose to break
Before the crack
Of dawn
Freed from the see-through threat of the ice
We were telling lies
To everyone who'd listen
While the walls went white
And the dirt stayed black
Trifled and trampled
Three leaves on each clover
Now only two
I'm left with all the rest
I owe to you
Forget-me-not eyes
We were timid in the garden
Pulling weeds from our mind
We chose the earth
Before each other
And chose to break
Before the crack
Of dawn
Freed from the see-through threat of the ice
We were telling lies
To everyone who'd listen
While the walls went white
And the dirt stayed black
Trifled and trampled
Three leaves on each clover
Now only two
I'm left with all the rest
I owe to you
